Short Sunday Funday!

Well this post will be short since I only have 2 days of outfits.  I had big plans to hit the gym hard, but after day one, I managed to hurt my back from deadlifts again.  I think I'm done with this particular exercise.  At least the traditional kind.  I don't seem to have problems with American deadlifts.  I don't know why, but the first time that I deadlift after not doing them for a while nearly always hurts my back badly.  I've had my form checked out by different trainers, and I've read all about what you are supposed to do.  I've even video taped myself doing it before.  So I don't think it's my form that is hurting me.  I also don't think it's because I'm using too much weight, because at the time I'm doing the exercise, I don't feel like it's too heavy at all.  I think maybe this exercise just doesn't agree with me lol.  And when my back is hurt, I literally can't do anything else.  I was having trouble even getting up from a chair earlier this week.  So, I've finally decided that it's not worth it to continue doing this exercise when the risk/reward doesn't pan out.

Towards the end of the week, I have pretty much recovered 90%.  So that's the good news.  But I decided at the last minute to go to Vegas for the weekend.  Plane tickets were super cheap ($120 round trip!) and hotels were really cheap too so why not.  Hahaha.  Stayed at Aria this time, and it was nicer than I remembered.  It's interesting though, that within 2 weeks, I went from a conservative Muslim country to sin city.  Vegas is definitely a completely different scene.  For some reason, I saw way more scantily clad girls this time than I normally do in Vegas!

Anyway, just flew back in tonight and I am getting a bit tired!  So I will just quickly post this and hit the sacks.  Even though I only have 2 outfits this week, they both are super matchy matchy so that's something different for me.  =)

Christian Louboutin Bridget Lace Bootie

I got the coolest shoes ever!  Apparently the Christian Louboutin Bridget Bootie was like the "it shoe" 5 years ago.  I saw a listing on ebay and thought they were super cute.  So I googled it and saw many pictures of celebs wearing them, and they looked pretty good with everyone's outfit!  I decided then that I should make them mine lol.  I don't regret it one bit!  They are so pretty.

They are size 36, which is the same as all my other Louboutin shoes.  But being booties, I think a half size up would have worked as well.  The lace upper is actually not stretchy at all.  So it really hugs my feet.  It's not uncomfortable.  Just snug.  I love them so much though!  I wonder if the lace will loosen a bit once I wear them in?  That would make them perfect, because despite the heel height, the little platform makes these shoes not bad at all to wear.

Anyway, here are some pictures of different celebrities wearing them - they look good on all of them I think!  They are all wearing dresses, but I think the booties will look great with a pair of skinny jeans as well.

Now that I've been wearing my Louboutins regularly, I don't feel so bad buying them anymore lol.  Especially black ones, which I believe will always get more wear.  I got these for a really good deal though!  They were like around 300 bucks!  As I said before, now that I'm bored of buying workout clothes, I end up with a lot more disposable income for things like shoes!  Hahaha.

Fendi Monster Bag Bugs Leather Chain Clutch

I've been loving the Fendi monster designs for a while now, and I finally pulled the trigger on the monster bag bugs clutch.a couple weeks ago when it was on sale on Ruelala.  Not much of a discount, but at least I saved a couple hundred bucks.  I don't usually feel strongly towards most purses.  I can acknowledge that some are very cute, but I just don't feel the "must have" feeling that makes me want to shell out thousands of dollars on one.  Not like shoes!  But for some reason, I just love the monster designs from Fendi.  I really want a monster Peekaboo bag, but that is definitely above my price level comfort zone for now lol.

Anyway, this bag bugs clutch is sooooo cute.  Although it's very little.  Even the Ruelala price cost me a pretty penny, which was $740 and I think that's a little bit much for its size.  But it retails for $950, so that's pretty crazy.  I'm only keeping it because I truly love it lol.  And, I talked myself into it since I haven't really bought an expensive bag in a long time.

It comes in a cute little box too:

And a cute little dust bag:

This clutch comes in both silver and gold hardware.  I don't usually like gold, but it actually doesn't look bad in this design.  But I eventually went with silver.  I just think silver will match better with my wardrobe.

Magnetic closure:

The chain strap is removable, and it's attached on the inside of the flap:

The inside is pretty simple.  Only one little pocket.

Basically the width of this clutch can fit my iphone 6 with its case on.  So if I had the plus version of the iphone, it would not fit lol.  Forget about fitting in my wallet.  It is 2 inches deep though.  So you can easily put some makeup, keys, etc. in it.  So, yes I wish it was a little bigger!  But alas, what are you gonna do.  This is how it looks on me:

They actually also make a chained wallet version of this clutch.  The link shows the gold hardware, actually.  The wallet version of this clutch wider, but thinner than the one I got.  Although it does come with pockets so it may not be a bad idea.

Here's a pouch version - it looks to be the biggest size of the 3.  But it doesn't come with any chain or straps so that doesn't work for me.

Anywayyyy... obviously a splurge item.  =P  But it seriously makes me happy to stare at this cute little monster lol.  I'm pretty sure I can make it work with every single outfit I have too!

Late Sunday Funday Again!

Posting Sunday Funday late for the 3rd week in a row!  Oops.  I actually was still battling some jeg lag and have been falling asleep by like 6 pm everyday last week lol.  Though I also woke up way earlier than usual so it made it a lot easier to get up for the gym before work.  Yesterday I slept through the night as well and woke up too late to post anything.  Hahaha.  I never used to get like this.  Maybe it's because I'm getting old!  =P

Last week was my first week back at the gym doing weights in over a month.  So needless to say, I was super sore from the workouts.  I started Get Glutes month 15, and made it to the gym 3 times before I called it quits.  Hahaha.  I literally couldn't even walk by the end of the week, because my butt was so sore!  I guess it proves that 1. the workouts indeed work the glutes, and 2. you lose all progress once you stop lifting for like a week lol.  Not sure how I feel about #2, and whether it is encouraging or discouraging.

Tuesday 2/16
What I did:  Strength #1, followed by 30 minutes on the treadmill.

What I wore:
Top:  Lululemon Breezy Singlet in white/grapefruit
Bra:  Lululemon Free To Be Wild in butterfly texture/flash light
Bottom: Zobha Tummy Slimming Capri
Shoes:  Nike Free 5.0 TR Fit 4 in ash

To and From:  Titika Flower Jacket

Wednesday 2/17
What I did:  Strength #2, followed by a treadmill class that I crashed... and then left early... lol.

What I wore:
Top:  Lorna Jane Team LJ Tank

To and From:  Lorna Jane Motivate LS

Thursday 2/18 - Rest, but here's my work outfit.  This cropped pant style is not something I wear often to work.  But it was a warm day and felt like Spring so why not!

Bottom:  Express Editor Pant Cropped

Friday 2/19
What I did:  Strength #3, followed by 20 minutes on the gauntlet.

What I wore:
Top:  Splits59 Tone Racerback
Bottom:  Lululemon High Times Pant Wrap Mesh in pretty plume

I took the weekend off to rest, so that's it!  I'm pretty much completely recovered from the soreness today so I'm hoping to get in more workouts this week.  Hey, at least when I'm sore, I feel like I'm doing something right.

Anyway, also will work on posting on time next time!  This jeg lag seems to be finally going away!
